FatKidsBrotha “Doo Rags”

The Two-9 crew out of Atlanta has steadily been keeping me walking with a deep assortment of styles and voices. The latest out the crew to catch my ear has been FatKidsBrotha with their Eastside Paradise album in steady rotation since the the new year. If you are tired of the same ol’ same ol’ southern sounds coming out of Atlanta and want something more than the high energy and highly ignorant trap rap you might find something to enjoy in Two-9′s brand of hiphop.

Just dropped on their TUMBLR and Bandcamp is this cut they are calling “Doo Rag” and hears the duo of Dave and Johnny talking about their pursuit of the dollar while listening to Aretha. Snubnose Frankenstein is a like minded LA teen (responsible for his own equally dope project) who is a frequent collaborator. Here he laces FKB with a throwback sounding West coast jam, full of that knock perfect for the booming systems we like to cruise with out where the sun sets.

The latest video from the FatKids, the topic of police brutality will never get old in hiphop. Shouts out to their Tacoma born brethren Curtis Williams too, just scooped an opening slot for ASAP next month in Atlanta.
