I know, I know, it’s been quiet as fuck around here. All I can tell you is that I’m trying. And here are a few things that have caught my ear of late.
Fresh is that guy. If you didn’t read my convo with him after he dropped his first tape, peep that. But first press play on the Quiet Life and enjoy the realities he presents. #2011Misses
The South keeps killing me with new variations and excellent demonstrations of showing how hiphop can grow. Birmingham, Alabama natives K.L.U.B. Monsta caught me last night with their Burn One hosted album Separate but Equal. The only thing I’ve heard to sit next to ScHoolboy’s album so far this year. And no they aren’t a knock of G-Side.
Remember these guys? Jake had a beat on their first album The Healing. When I heard they had a new album out I shrugged and downloaded only to never peep. I should have, and if you haven’t you should too. #2011Misses
Finally we have the Two-9 super group The Starting Five, composed of the duo Fat Kids Brotha and the trio Retro Sushi. Features abound from the rest of the crew. I’ve spoken on a few members in the past, but Two-9 is a bunch of young emcees who call Atlanta home. Dope shit, fun shit.
Roll something up, grab some of these jams and get out into this sun! Enjoy your weekend y’all.
